Ozil joins Istanbul Basaksehir

Mesut Ozil has joined Istanbul Basaksehir after his contract with fellow Turkish aspect Fenerbahce was terminated by mutual consent.

Basaksehir say the 33-year-old playmaker has signed a one-year take care of the choice of an additional 12 months.

Ozil joined Fenerbahce on a free switch in January 2021 and was contracted to them till 2024.

However German Ozil had not performed for his boyhood membership since he was “excluded” from the squad in March.

Fenerbahce changed interim boss Ismail Kartal in early June with Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, who then referred to “the tip of the Ozil period” in his first media convention with the membership.
