NCC doles out N500m for analysis in Nigerian varsities


The Nigerian Communications Fee (NCC) has dedicated over N500 million to the Nigerian universities and different tertiary establishments throughout the nation to facilitate analysis and improvements to advertise developments within the Nigerian telecommunications trade.

Government Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Fee, Prof Umar Danbatta who disclosed this at a two-day Regional Roundtable with academia, trade and different stakeholders which led to Kano on the weekend, mentioned the funds have been dedicated to analysis grants to universities and tertiary establishments, together with professorial chairs within the universities in salient areas to drive know-how growth.

In a press release signed by the Director Public Affairs, Reuben Muoka, Danbatta mentioned the Fee is now centered on supporting the academia within the commercialisation of the prototypes from these modern researches as that is related to the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Financial system’s coverage in the direction of reaching indigenous know-how for sustainable growth  of our nation. He mentioned the roundtableorganized by the Fee was to offer the required platform to assist the commercialisation of locally- developed telecommunications improvements which NCC has been sponsoring.
