
Container transport agency A.P. Moller-Maersk mentioned on Wednesday it has ordered six extra vessels capable of run on carbon impartial methanol, taking its order backlog of such ships to 19.
The Danish firm has vowed to solely order new vessels that may use carbon-neutral gas because it seeks to ship net-zero emissions by 2040.
The brand new ships, set for supply in 2025 and costing some 8%-12% greater than standard vessels, will every have a capability of roughly 17,000 normal containers, changing older capability set to be retired, Maersk mentioned.
