Gunmen kidnap Kwara monarch, spouse, driver

Unknown gunmen on Saturday kidnapped the normal ruler of Owa Onire city in Ifelodun native authorities space of Kwara state, his spouse and driver.

Nonetheless, operatives of the state police command who swoped into motion in collaboration with native hunters have rescued the monarch’ s spouse.

Equally, the command stated it has arrested two suspects by title Bello Abubakr, 31 years and Bawa Seketri, 30 years who  have been allegedly concerned within the abduction.

The state police Public Relations Officer, Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the event in a press release on Sunday. 

The assertion reads, “at about 1645hrs of 1/10/2022, an data was recieved by the police command to the impact that the normal ruler of Owa Onire a rusty city in Ifelodun native authorities space of Kwara State, his spouse and driver have been kidnapped by unknown armed males.

“Police tactical groups with vigilante and hunters have been instantly dispatched to the world by the commissioner of police, CP Paul Odama with  an order to rescue the victims and arrest the perpetrators.

“The efforts of the groups led to the rescue of the kidnapped spouse of the normal ruler whereas two of the suspects concerned within the kidnap by title Bello Abubakr ‘M’ 31 yrs  and Bawa Seketri ‘M’ 30yrs  have been arrested  and serving to the command in her investigation,  effort to rescue the normal ruler and his driver nonetheless ongoing whereas the rescued  spouse have been launched to hitch her household”.
