Edo: Police rescue kidnapped conventional worshipers

Operatives of Edo State police command has reportedly rescued three conventional worshipers kidnapped by hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers.

The normal worshipers had been stated to be getting back from a prayer part at a river on the Benin-Abraka highway when the armed hoodlums struck.

The gunmen reportedly accosted and whisked the three worshipers into the bush.

The State Police command deputy public relations officer, ASP. Jennifer Iwegbu who disclosed this in an announcement stated the incident occurred on Monday at about 1pm.

Based on her, “upon receipt of the data, the Divisional Police Officer, Ugo instantly mobilised his operatives to the scene in sizzling pursuit of the hoodlums and potential rescue of the victims. 

“The hoodlums sensing the presence of the operatives on their path had been pressured to desert their victims and fled into the bush”.

Whereas noting  that the victims have since been reunited with their households, the deputy police spokesman stated: “intense bush combing remains to be ongoing to neutralize or arrest the hoodlums”.

He added that the operatives response to misery name  in keeping with “Edo State Police Command constantly renewed combat to stem the growing rise in violent crimes within the State, particularly Kidnapping”.

In a associated growth, the police has arrested one Favor Oyhou for reportedly stabbing his boyfriend to dying on July 23, 2022.

The suspect was stated to have on the time fled after killing the boy recognized as Paul Good-looking, 25.

The assertion quoted the Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, to have on the time “ordered the Space Commander and Divisional Police Officer in command of Auchi to smoke out the fleeing lady unharmed”.
