President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned what he referred to as “the unprovoked and cold-blooded homicide of a Yobe State-based Islamic cleric Sheikh Goni Aisami, by a callous soldier he had provided a carry as confirmed by the Police.”
Reacting to the incident on Tuesday, the President stated the “barbaric homicide of a compassionate man by a soldier he had assisted has no place in our coaching as troopers, and it negates your complete ethos of army life which is anchored on self-discipline and respect for the sanctity of harmless lives.”
