
Not less than two troopers had been gunned down on Saturday at Isuofia, Aguata Native Authorities Space (LGA) of Anambra State throughout a gun battle with gunmen.
Isuofia, which had been below hoodlums’ assault since 2021, is the hometown of Anambra State governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, and Late Hon. Okechukwu Okoye of Aguata II constituency, who was equally killed within the city by hoodlums about 5 months in the past.
Sources claimed that the gunmen who had been in giant numbers attacked military checkpoint locally early morning, after gaining entrance by a neighbouring neighborhood, Umuona, and killed two troopers on the spot.
“We had been at our home after I heard the gunshots. On the finish of the battle, we noticed two lifeless troopers and 4 useless our bodies of the hoodlums. We had been instructed by the troopers who survived the assault that they demobilised and killed all of the hoodlums,” the supply added.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, was but to substantiate the report as at press time.
