Conventional rulers in Idemili North and South Native Authorities Areas of Anambra State, Monday, denied media reviews that they endorsed the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Celebration (PDP) for the 2023 polls, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The monarchs, in an announcement issued by Chairman of their discussion board, Igwe Chuma Agbala, and the vice-chairman, Igwe Nick Obi, added that they haven’t any intention of endorsing any candidate for the election due to their place as royal fathers of all.
In line with them, the trending media reviews was a twisted account of what transpired throughout their quarterly conferences held at Ogidi, Nnewi North, which was attended by their son and Chairman of United Nigerian Airline, Chief Obiora Okonkwo.
“The publication or info circulating within the information media of the purported endorsement of a PDP Presidential candidate just isn’t true. The actual fact is that the Idemili North and South Conventional Rulers Discussion board held its quarterly assembly on the Idemili North Native Authorities Headquarters, Ogidi the place Chief Obiora Okonkwo got here and mentioned that he was appointed as one of many PDP Anambra State coordinators.
“That was it, and there was nothing just like the endorsement of any political occasion or her flag bearer. We, the normal Rulers of Idemili North and South, don’t bask in partisan politics and as such wouldn’t dump or endorse or transfer to endorse any political occasion’s candidate. We’re royal fathers and therefore are fathers to all,” the assertion added.
