11 groups to sq. up in third North Central Handball Championship

Members of the Richard Agbonifo Hand2Hand Sports activities Basis with AMAC Handball officers through the unveiling in Abuja on Tuesday.

Eleven groups (8 males and three ladies) have been confirmed as members for the upcoming third version of the North Central Senior women and men, Handball Championships, to be staged for the primary time, in Makurdi, Benue state.

The Chief Organizer, who occurs to be the member representing the North Central Zone within the Handball Federation of Nigeria, Mr. Saidu Jibrin Ojih said this whereas talking on a radio station monitored by our correspondent in Abuja.

In line with Saidu Jibrin, the match in Makurdi is scheduled to carry from August Nineteenth-Twenty sixth; however the previous two editions had been efficiently hosted in Abuja, underneath the aegis of the Mega Veterans Handball Affiliation, which can even oversee the match in Makurdi. 

Jibrin is  the chairman of the North Central Handball Affiliation

The eight which have registered for this 12 months championship are, Benue Buffaloes, Confluence Kings, FRSC  Security Shooters, Workforce Nasarawa, D-Defenders of Abuja , Niger United of Minna, Correctional Boys of Abuja and Unity Boys of Abuja

The three feminine groups within the combine are:Benue Queens, FRSC Security Babes and Defenders Babes of Abuja.

In line with the Chief organiser, “it’s no secret that through the years, the North Central has been the mainstay of handball in Nigeria. That is verifiable by the variety of groups that compete in our elite division, the Prudent Vitality Handball League, and I can inform you, the area boasts about 40% of gamers, in our varied nationwide groups, female and male”. Jibrin added.

The final version of the championships, was gained by the FRSC owned groups, Security Shooters and Security Babes of Abuja.
